Appearance
The design of the Gamdias Mars M2 is discreet and quite nice. The front panel is solid, metal, with a rounded top and bottom edge. In its upper left part there is a round button for starting the system, surrounded by a ring of ARGB illumination around the perimeter. The manufacturer’s logo is on the bottom right.
External ports are located at the bottom, on the left side of the front panel. From top to bottom, there are: dot indicators for system power and drive activity, a square backlight switch button, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 connectors, two 3.5 mm headphone and microphone outputs.
The left side panel is made entirely of fairly clear tempered glass. It is suspended on two metal loops hidden behind the back of the case.
The door opens to the left by pulling the plastic handle in the middle of the front. It is held by a centering pin and two magnets hidden under a soft pad in the front edge of the chassis. You can remove the side panel upwards by opening it more than 90 degrees.
Tempered glass is 3mm thick. There is a black strip along the perimeter, and fastening metal strips are glued in front and behind the face.
The right side panel is metal and solid, with a stamped handle on the back for easy removal. It is held on by two plastic knurled screws. Over the entire area of the side face of the front panel on this side there is a ventilation grill with holes in the form of bricks.
From the inside, the right door is equipped with excellent U-shaped stiffeners.
The top panel is almost completely transparent to the air, since most of it is occupied by a honeycomb grid, covered with a magnetic filter in the form of a metal mesh.
The oblong, left-shifted mounting holes can accommodate two 120mm or 140mm fans.
The back panel is framed as standard. A 120 mm fan can be mounted on the ventilation grill in one of five positions available in height. Four expansion slots are covered with disposable ventilated plugs, and a decorative hole to the right of them is covered with a sliding vertical bar, which is held on by one screw with a plastic knurled head. Mounting holes located at the bottom of the power supply allow you to orient it as a fan down and up.
The bottom panel has four large plastic feet, a simple mesh dust filter for the power supply, and a cutout for dismantling the front panel.
The height of the legs is 22 mm. Rubber dampers are glued on from below.
Let’s see how things are inside.
