The next case from Gamdias that got our attention is the Talos E2. It is priced much cheaper than the previously reviewed Mars M1, but is not much inferior to it in terms of functionality. There is, of course, a little more glass and RGB lighting than we would like. But at least it was done not to the detriment of common sense, which is now a rarity.

Packing and scope of delivery
The box at the case is the most common, with monochrome printing. On the front and back there is an image of the chassis assembled and decomposed into individual components. On the sides you can find a table with technical specifications and carrying handles. From damage during transportation, the goods are protected by foam dampers, a plastic bag and anti-scratch glass stickers.
The parts kit is modest and does not contain paper instructions (you can download it from the official website). But here are the parts:
- five disposable plastic cable ties;
- eight long screws for fans;
- 25 small screws for the motherboard and 2.5″ drives;
- three motherboard racks (the other six are pre-installed in the pallet);
- four case hexagonal screws;
- eight screws for a 3.5″ hard drive.
Appearance
Gamdias Talos E2 has the classic shape of a regular black parallelepiped, all edges of which converge at an angle of 90 degrees. The front plastic panel is completely covered by tempered 4mm glass, behind which are visible three backlit fans and a subtle Gamdias lettering at the bottom. Where do the fans get fresh outside air from? There are open holes 20 mm wide on both side faces of the front, and the propellers are located at a decent distance from the glass. Already good.
External ports and buttons are placed on the front of the top panel. If you list in order from left to right, then there is a large round PC start button, a red drive activity indicator and a blue power indicator below it, a small round system reset button, another round backlight control button, two 3.5 mm audio jacks for microphone and headphones, two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port.
The left sidewall consists of a metal non-removable part at the bottom and a glass door measuring 355×330 mm at the top. All parts are flush in the same plane. The glass is held on by four metal thumbscrews. A small hook for removing the side panel can be found in the middle of the back edge.
Under the screws and between the glass and the case there are rubber pads to avoid scratches and chips when screwing.
Tempered glass has a traditional thickness of 4mm and is lightly tinted. A black opaque stripe runs along the perimeter of all its faces.
The right sidewall is smooth, solid and completely metal. There is a stamped handle on the back. It is held on by two metal knurled screws.
On the reverse side of the right door, interesting stiffening ribs were found, welded in the form of rectangular channels and with four hooks in front. This is the first time I have encountered such a variant of hardening in cases.
Most of the top panel is a honeycomb ventilation grill, covered with a removable magnetic filter made of fine metal mesh. Sets of oblong mounting holes for two 120- or 140-mm fans are offset towards the left panel.
The scheme of the rear panel device is standard. There is a grill in the upper right corner, to which one 120- or 140-mm fan can be fixed on the back side and its height can be adjusted within 20 mm. Below there are seven PCI expansion slots covered with disposable vented plugs. The technological hole to the right of them is closed by a grille shifted to the right, which is held on by two screws with a knurled metal head. The power supply can be mounted in its seat with the fan down or up.
On the base of the case there are four large figured plastic legs. The ventilation grille of the power supply unit is covered with a fine-mesh metal mesh dust filter. There are two screws on the front that hold the drive cage inside. To get to the cutout for dismantling the front panel, the case will have to be lifted. As well as for cleaning the BP filter. And to mount the basket, you will need to put it on its left side at all.
The height of the legs is 22 mm. They have rubber stickers on the bottom.
