So we got to the most basic H510 model in the current range of NZXT cases. It has much in common with the previously reviewed H510i Elite, but there are also some design differences. In particular, there is no electronic control unit for lighting and fans, the front panel is metal, not glass, there are no slots for vertical installation of a video card, and instead of the front 140mm backlit fans, there are two 120mm propellers for the exhaust hood at the back and top. However, there is also good news. The H510 is priced at $70, not $150 like the Elite, and not even $100 like the H510i. And this is quite an adequate price in the current market conditions. Let’s look at the chassis in more detail.

Appearance
Conceptually, the design of the NZXT H510 is within its series – black, straight and square. The front panel is solid and metal. The only detail on it is the outlined NZXT logo on the bottom. The body feels light and strong.

The external ports are on the right front of the top panel. From left to right, there are: one paired 3.5 mm audio jack, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 and a round PC start button, around the perimeter of which there is a white system power indicator and a drive activity LED.

The transparent side glass is a solid panel and takes up most of the left side of the case. It is held on by a single thumbscrew and a pair of latches. The lower part of the sidewall is formed by the metal casing of the power supply.

Tempered glass is 3mm thick. On the sides and top, a metal frame with two fasteners and a screw lock is glued to it.

The right side door is flat. It has a vertical row of round air vents at the front. The sidewall is held on by two screws with a metal knurled head.

On the reverse side of the right door, on the ventilation holes, there is a mesh of a high-quality dust filter in a plastic frame. The screws are fixed on the panel.

At the back of the top panel there is an exhaust ventilation grille. One 120- or 140-mm fan can be hung on it from the inside.

Behind everything is standard. A pre-installed 120mm fan hangs on the ventilation grill, just below there are seven horizontal slots for PCI expansion cards. All of them are closed with reusable perforated plugs. The decorative strip to the right of the slots is held on by two metal knurled screws.

The seat of the power supply is located at the bottom. The configuration of the mounting holes allows you to rotate the PSU as a fan up or down. The PSU is protected from dust by an easily removable dust filter in the form of a fine mesh glued to a plastic frame.

On the oblong holes in the front of the base, you can hang a basket of drives, a pump, a 2.5″ or 3.5″ drive inside.

The plastic legs with rubber studs are 25 mm high. Ahead of the bottom there is another vent, covered with a dust filter.

Let’s see what’s inside the case.
