The New Year holidays are behind us, and with them the lull in the gaming industry. The first releases of the year 2019 have already begun to appear, including the expected AAA projects. This year, gamers are waiting for a lot of interesting new products and almost all of them belong to well-known franchises. There will be so many powerful projects that we had to split our expectations into two materials. Therefore, in this collection we have collected all the games that have exact premiere dates, and in the second part we will talk about projects whose creators threaten to release them this year, but specific release dates have not yet been announced.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

On January 25, Resident Evil 2 Remake is released on PC, Xbox One and PS4 – not a classic re-release of the game with improved graphics, but a thoroughly redesigned project with a redesigned camera, new gameplay mechanics, improved cutscenes and storyline. Judging by the trailers and the released demo (which has been downloaded more than 2 million times), the creators managed to keep that same sticky atmosphere of fear, despair and struggle for life familiar from childhood.

Of course, no one touched the main storyline, so Resident Evil 2 Remake will tell the story of student Claire Redfield and police recruit Leon Kennedy, who caught the height of a zombie invasion in the small American town of Raccoon City. The heroes have to get out of the infected city, save a bunch of people along the way, while not dying themselves and not turning into the walking dead.

Crackdown 3

On February 15, the futuristic long-term shooter from Microsoft Studios will premiere on Xbox One and PC (with Windows 10 on board). Judging by the videos and promotional trailers, the new Xbox-exclusive promises to be a crazy third-person shooter in a huge open world.

In Crackdown 3, players will be able to do crazy things, taunt opponents and kill them in hundreds of sophisticated ways. In addition to the story mission, they promise to bring a chic multiplayer with complete destructible environments and jetpacks for incredible jumps.

Far Cry: New Dawn

As I wrote in the gaming results of 2018, Ubisoft sometimes gets too hung up on its popular projects and starts to rivet new games, almost without changing the essence of what is happening. So it was with Far Cry 3 and its successors, and so, perhaps, will happen with Far Cry 5. The new project was distinguished by familiar mechanics, but refreshed gameplay and a memorable antagonist.

Based on the trailers shown, Far Cry: New Dawn is the same Far Cry 5, but in a glamorous post-apocalyptic setting. Starring sisters Lou and Mickey. The well-known sectarian Joseph Seed will confront them, and the events will unfold in the well-known Hope County, Montana, 17 years after the nuclear disaster.

We hope that Far Cry: New Dawn will be as good as Far Cry: Blood Dragon. That project was also created for fun, but it turned out to be more than a worthy game that gamers are still launching. Far Cry: New Dawn releases February 15 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Metro: Exodus

The long-awaited game continuation of the third book by Dmitry Glukhovsky about the post-apocalyptic Moscow metro, without exaggeration, is waiting for the whole world. The new project of the Ukrainian studio 4A Games will continue the story of Artyom and Anya. Heroes have escaped from the ground on the Aurora armored train and are racing towards even more serious dangers.

Unlike previous parts, Metro: Exodus will get rid of narrow passages, cramped tunnels and gloomy subway stations, and instead provide players with large free locations of winter post-nuclear Russia. Here you can breathe without a gas mask, but you still have to be afraid for your life. Metro: Exodus is set to release on February 15th. The game will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Anthem

After Mass Effect: Andromeda, the developers at BioWare may screw up again. If this happens, then the culprit of the new shame will be the futuristic-post-apocalyptic action game Anthem – a copy of Destiny, but with flying soldiers in exoskeletons and with a bunch of weapons.

Very little is known about the project and its plot, but the spectacular trailers aroused serious interest among gamers. True, the released Anthem alpha scared some gamers away, because the game turned out to be beautiful, but boring. And if technical bugs can still be fixed before the release, then the developers are unlikely to be able to redraw the sluggish gameplay. Although it may not be so bad, and we are waiting for another decent game from venerable igrodelov.

The long-awaited Anthem from the legendary BioWare releases February 22 on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Total War: Three Kingdoms

The famous historical strategy Total War is back – the new part of the famous franchise with the subtitle Three Kingdoms is dedicated to Ancient China, or rather, its cruel and glorious period of the Three Kingdoms. In those days, three powerful powers fought for China: Shu, Wei and Wu.

For the most part, we still have the same Total War, but with improved graphics and oriental themes. But the developers have introduced important changes to the familiar gameplay (at least that’s what they say), and the actions that the gamer performs during the game will affect the further passage. Total War: Three Kingdoms will premiere on March 7th on PC.

Devil May Cry 5

In 2013, DmC: Devil May Cry was released – a reboot of the famous story about demons with a new plot and main character. Most fans of the franchise took the project negatively. But if we abstract from fan expectations, then the game turned out to be more than worthy. It’s just that all the previous parts were too well done, so DmC: Devil May Cry looked rather weak.

In Devil May Cry 5, the developers from Capcom took into account the wishes of the fans, refused to restart and returned their beloved Dante. Little is known about the plot – a couple of years after the events of Devil May Cry 4, demons invaded the city of Redgrave. On the way of the minions of Hell, the demon hunter Nero stood up (in addition to him, they will let you play for an unknown character named Vee and, of course, for Dante) with new prosthetic hands. Devil May Cry 5 releases March 8 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

March 15 on PC, Xbox One and PS4 comes the continuation of the multiplayer post-apocalyptic shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division with the number 2 in the title. Players will experience the core of familiar gameplay, but with more attractive graphics and important improvements that were built on the most popular wishes of the fans.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will also change the scene – instead of cold New York, gamers will find themselves in the US capital, Washington.

Axe: Shadows Die Twice

Japanese developers from the FromSoftware studio have stated many times that they are tired of their popular Dark Souls series and are doing something completely different. That fresh breath of air was Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. But after a detailed announcement of the project and the first trailers, it turned out that this is also an action / RPG, also about the Middle Ages, but the events in it take place in Japan during the Sengoku period. The protagonist named Sekiro has chosen the path of revenge and is moving along it, cutting his way with a sword and a cunning hook with a rope.

In terms of gameplay, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is very close to Bloodborne, and what kind of fatigue the creators were talking about remained a mystery. Here, the main thing is that they do not burn out and do not make a new game according to the old patterns just to make money. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out March 22 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Mortal Kombat 11

If you have played the previous parts of this series of fighting games, then Mortal Kombat 11 will not surprise you. Of course, the creators will try to add a twist here too, so even the 11th part will be a surprise in some way.

But for most players, it’s enough that this is the new Mortal Kombat – the latest game in one of the best fighting game series of our time. And the rest is trifles: prettier graphics and super-skills, sophisticated murders, fresh heroes and the return of old ones, rivers of blood and maximum brutality. In addition, they added a second strip of energy, but to block blows, character customization and a plot where the heroes will move in time, meet dead characters and themselves in their youth.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on April 23rd. The fighting game will be released on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Days Gone

Days Gone is a new zombie action game about a lone biker. Before the advent of the virus and the end of the world, he was a criminal, so now he does almost the same thing – he survives in the cruel world of the dead, where living people are the most terrible of creatures.

SIE Bend Studio was inspired to develop the game by the mega-popular The Last of Us. Whether the new project will be able to at least approach the level of the brainchild of Naughty Dog, we will find out on April 26th.

Our upcoming PS4 exclusive will be called Life After. Sony knows how to make cool games, but they often have problems with localization.

RAGE 2

The most anticipated games of 2019The most anticipated games of 2019

On May 14, the sequel to the post-nuclear shooter RAGE from the famous studio id Software (in collaboration with Avalanche Studios – the parents of the Just Cause series) will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4. The first part stood out for its killer action and excellent shooting, but it was depressing with a mediocre world and a crumpled plot.

In RAGE 2, the creators promise to keep the same shooting, but to start a full-fledged open world and a sane story. Avalanche Studios will help them create huge locations. The main thing here is that they do not fit in to develop the script, otherwise there are more problems with it in the Just Cause series than in the original RAGE.
