ASRock’s Phantom Gaming series of products, as the name suggests, is aimed at an audience with an interest in gaming entertainment, replacing the once-peculiar Fatal1ty product group. A high numerical index directly indicates the flagship status of the model. In the presence of adapters for network connections, including three pieces, this included support for Wi-Fi of the sixth generation. The software bonus for the sound component is a utility from Creative. It provides for the installation of three M.2 format devices and eight drives with traditional SATA sockets. PCI Express processor lines can be divided between a pair of full-length slots, and a heat pipe can be seen as part of the VRM radiator. We did not forget about the bright backlight, but everything will be discussed further.

The popular Taichi model in the form of a product with an AMD X570 hub lacks the fastest wired network interface and a number of software bonuses, the base and other technical features are cloned from the current guest of our laboratory. Main characteristics in the form of a table:

The general idea of building products based on the X570 was considered in the course of acquaintance with the ASUS Prime X570-Pro.
Packaging and equipment
The box is huge, there is one handle.

Product details are on the back.

Contents of delivery:
- multilingual quick installation guide;
- UEFI and Phantom Gaming Tuning manual in English;
- postcard with the emblem of the series (there is a place for the stamp);
- disk with drivers and proprietary software;
- company logo sticker;
- three mounting screws and two racks for M.2 devices;
- branded screwdriver with a removable sting; flat and cross-shaped slots are provided (in our case it would be more logical to get a hexagonal slot, probably an error occurred during the assembly at the factory);
- four SATA 6Gb / s cables, two of which have an L-shaped connector on one of the ends;
- double hard bridge for organizing SLI;
- remote antenna with the possibility of fixing only one position.

The stand has a base glued with double-sided tape (the outer side is with a protective film); it is not magnetic.

Appearance
ATX standard is maintained, mounting holes are provided, including 10 pcs. Before us is a modified version of the board (rev. 1.06) with a USB 3.2 Gen2 platform turned 90 degrees in order to eliminate conflicts between case cables and video cards.

The back side is decorated with a protective figured plate.

It is strong and metal.

A group of LEDs with lenses directed to the side is soldered along the right side of the device.

The luminous flux is softened by a smoky plastic diffuser.

The backlight is built into the overlay above the I/O ports on the back and opposite side of the device. You can evaluate her work by the official promotional video.
The monolithic “cover” made of a thick layer of aluminum alloy is mounted on three hex head screws.

Heat to it with the assistance of thermal pads will be transferred from all compact drives, as well as from the chipset heatsink.

Thanks to the guide pin and the hole in the X570 heatsink on the right, as well as the protrusions on the racks on the left, the plate-to-board docking is secure. If you need to mount shorter M.2 devices, a set of standoffs and clamping screws is included.

The hub heat sink is a simple blank with machined ventilation ducts. Air intake occurs from above and only. Overlapping the grate will greatly worsen the temperature regime, it can save the huge heat capacity of the entire structure, but this will not last forever.

Only PCI-E lines are connected to the middle M.2 seat, you can also count on SATA from above and below.
There are 8 classic SATA slots, all of them are longitudinal.

USB pads for body cables: 2.0 – 2 pcs., 3.2 Gen1 – 1 pc., 3.2 Gen2 – 1 pc. All of them are transverse.

The lower shielded PCI-E x16 slot is equipped with four high-speed interface lines from the hub. The sound subsystem has a plastic overlay, there are no metal shielding structures. For the sake of the image idea, the op-amp was moved to the reverse side, which is extremely rare.

The power and reset buttons, as well as the POST code indicator, have an active red backlight, after loading the operating system it turns off. Nearby there is a miniature button for resetting the settings.

The distance of the socket from the top PCI-E x16, the height of the heatsinks and the “visor” – do not promise compatibility problems with overall cooling structures, at least at first glance.

PWM controller – seven-channel ISL69147 (Renesas Electronics). There are seven ISL6617A doublers on the back (from the same company). Six phases (12 channels) are needed to stabilize CPU Voltage, one phase (two channels) is for SOC Voltage. Soldered 12+2=14 SiC634 assemblies (Vishay Intertechnology).

A screw clamp and sufficient areas of thermal pads will ensure full contact of the heatsinks with the hub and transistors.

At the back there is everything your heart desires, one of the buttons will start the firmware update procedure, the other is needed to reset the settings. In the presence of the only video output – HDMI 2.0, a number of direct competitors in the market segment, they are completely excluded as a class.
