In the first selection of the most anticipated games of 2019, we talked about projects that received exact release dates. This part contains games that are worth waiting for this year, but their releases may be postponed. And let’s clarify right away – Cyberpunk 2077 is not on the list, since it seems to us that CD Project Red will not be corny before the end of the year. But we hope we are wrong.
Doom Eternal

It probably makes no sense to talk in detail about Doom Eternal, because almost every shooter fan (and not only) is waiting for it. The new part of the meat project will move the scene from Mars to Earth, and the main character will continue to save the worlds from the invasions of creatures from hell.
Doom Eternal is unlikely to be released in 2019 and all because of Rage 2. The developers have repeatedly said that they do not want to compete with this sequel. Although, what prevents the game from releasing in the fall, because Rage 2 comes out in May. However, there is no word yet on a release this year. On the other hand, they are unlikely to wait a whole year for a dubious confrontation with a game that is not guaranteed to work. Doom Eternal will be released on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Control

The Finnish studio Remedy (authors Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break) has been working on a game called Control for a long time – a third-person action game (and someone was waiting for another?) With the main character a girl and aliens.
Judging by the first information, we are waiting for a classic thriller in the spirit of past games, with a twisted story about an employee of the Federal Bureau of Control, Jessie Fadens, and extraterrestrial invaders, who are called hissers here. The latter captured the Bureau headquarters building, which means that most of the events (if not all) will take place inside the skyscraper. How this will affect the gameplay and whether it will become too boring, we will find out this year. But Remedy is unlikely to have something out of control, especially a twisted plot. Someone who, and they understand it. The game will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Death Stranding

The long-awaited space puzzle game from maestro Hideo Kojima is likely to release this year. True, the brilliant Japanese game designer likes to do everything thoroughly, so there are chances to play Death Stranding as early as 2020.
Not a single project with so many videos has told so little and dragged out the intrigue even more. Everyone knows that Death Stranding will be a game about space and parallel worlds, but no one knows anything specific. The all-star line-up shown in the trailers is also impressive: Norman Reedus (who looks set to play the title character), Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo Del Toro. Death Stranding will be a PS4 exclusive.
The Outer Worlds

Some players are already calling The Outer Worlds (PC, Xbox One and PS4) “The Fallout 4 we deserve.” Judging by the first trailers and gameplay videos, everything is going to this (let’s cross our fingers). It is important here that a bright-looking idea does not turn into a mediocre passer-by.

The legendary masters of RPG, Obsidian studio, are working on the game, so it’s hardly worth worrying about the role-playing component, but it’s not clear what will happen to the script. It is not written by Chris Avellone, but as usual, we hope for the best.
Let’s remember the released Obsidian Fallout: New Vegas, which is considered one of the best games in the series, which can only be said with a stretch about the latest creations of Bethesda. Almost every game of these developers becomes an RPG hit (Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Neverwinter Nights 2, Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Tyranny). But The Outer Worlds should surpass them and then Obsidian will wipe Bethesda’s nose. It is high time.
The Surge 2

In 2019, the continuation of the action-RPG The Surge with the number 2 in the title will be released – not Dark Souls, but with its own ideas, a well-developed world and unusual pumping mechanics. Judging by the trailers of The Surge 2, the creators from Deck13 Interactive decided not to touch the gameplay, but only to improve the plot, the world and the picture.
And everything would be fine, but the second attempt may turn out to be worse than the first – The Surge was remembered precisely for its differences from Dark Souls, although it took almost everything else from it. The second part offers a similar concept, but bigger and prettier. True, in 2019, gamers are unlikely to be interested in a copy of the repetition. The Surge 2 will only be released on PC.
Gears 5 (Gears of War)

The fifth numbered part of the action-shooter Gears of War tells about the partner of the legendary J.D. Phoenix. The game will affect her personal life and reveal the secret of the appearance of ugly locusts. JD himself will appear in the new project, his friend and partner Delmont Walker and father Marcus Phoenix will drop by to visit him.
The upcoming Xbox One semi-exclusive will feature split-screen co-op and full co-op. Judging by the trailers, the graphics of Gears 5 will be at the highest level, and the main thing here is that optimization does not fail, especially on Windows 10.
Twin Mirror

Dontnod Entertainment (creators of Remember Me, Life is Strange and Vampyr) is hard at work on a new Twin Mirror game. And since French developers love to experiment with genres, this time players are in for a third-person action game. Twin Mirror events will unfold in a small American town with an abundance of mystical secrets.
Judging by the trailers, the game resembles a vigorous mixture of Alan Wake, Twin Peaks and Stephen King novels. There are very few projects like this, so I want Dontnod to succeed. The main thing is to work on the script, the sinister atmosphere and the motivation of the characters. The game will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Nioh 2

Little is known about Nioh 2 – the creators presented one vague trailer, so the rest can only be guessed.
And it’s not a fact that the game will be released in 2019 – too little information was given out by the developers from Team Ninja. But judging by the first part, players will find a complex and spectacular action-RPG that skillfully uses the mechanics of Dark Souls and the colorful mythology of Japan.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a spin-off of BJ Blaskowitz’s adventure series, but not starring him. This time, his twin daughters Sophie and Jess will continue the fight against the Nazis, and the events of the game will unfold in 1980 – 19 years after the end of the second part. The girls will find themselves in Nazi-occupied Paris and will look for their dad, while simultaneously chopping Fritz for meat stew.
The trailers for Wolfenstein: Youngblood feature familiar and peppy gameplay, loads of meat, and the franchise’s signature black humor. And if there are two girls, then it’s a sin not to add a cooperative. What will come of it, we hope, will find out this year. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is worth the wait on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Ghost of Tsushima

In 2014, Sucker Punch released almost the first game for the PlayStation 4 – Infamous: Second Son. Now they are working on a new Curler exclusive called Ghost of Tsushima.
The project is an action game about samurai, and the events take place in Medieval Japan of the XIII century, when the Mongol horde attacked the country. The gamer will be entrusted with the role of the Japanese warrior Jin, who fights against the invaders and does it in the best traditions of oriental action games: cheerful, fun and epic, but without the hardcore mechanics of the same Nioh.
The Last of Us: Part 2

The continuation of one of the most iconic games of the last decade is awaited with the same impatience as, at one time, Uncharted 4. The Last of Us: Part 2 seems to be released in 2019, but knowing the developers from Naughty Dog, they will easily transfer project and further, if necessary.
The actions of the creators are more than justified, because the studio’s games receive flattering reviews from gamers and the press, and transfer them to debug the already great gameplay or trifling, but such little things that are important for immersion.
The second part will continue Ellie’s story, and the trailer hints at the girl’s unconventional orientation. But even so, it won’t hurt normal players to enjoy the new Naughty Dog project.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the Wisps promises to be the same fabulous and memorable platform game as the first part of Ori and the Blind Forest. The original turned out to be a bright and touching project in which the gamer controlled the forest spirit Ori. The sequel will reveal the secret of the world beyond the forest of Nibel (Ori’s home) and tell about the origin of the cute protagonist.
The main thing here is that the developers from Moon Studios do not touch the gameplay, because it is almost perfect, and work on visual beauties, an adequate plot and expansion of locations. And also, they should remember that the best is the enemy of the good and stop in time. The game will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Dying Light 2

Dying Light is a solid zombie survival action game, but it’s not exactly impressive. It struck only the city and he was the main character. But the second part was taken up by the legendary Chris Avellone, a game designer and screenwriter who worked on many excellent RPGs (Fallout 2, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Prey, Divinity: Original Sin 2). This fact made Dying Light 2 one of the most anticipated games of 2019, but the fact is that it is unlikely that the premiere will take place so early.
Polish developers from Techland announced Dying Light 2 only in the summer of 2018, so now the work is in full swing and even a gameplay video has been presented. But let them better take their time and make a decent zombie RPG. After all, such projects are very lacking.
Warcraft 3 Reforged

Warcraft 3 Reforged is not exactly a new game, but a completely remastered classic RTS from 2002. Judging by the trailers, Blizzard worked on this project as only she can – carefully, scrupulously and with maniacal meticulousness.
The original Warcraft 3 is still played by hundreds of thousands of gamers and even full-fledged esports tournaments are held. At Blizzcon 2018, the guys from Blizzard played on this, as well as on gaming nostalgia, and announced Warcraft 3 Reforged. Players are waiting for changed locations, a modified campaign, improved characters and hundreds of cool improvements. It is very possible that gamers are waiting for a powerful remaster, which will easily drag a new generation of players into its trap.
