Branding of computer components for various games has long and firmly become a popular trend among manufacturers, because it significantly increases the value of the product in the eyes of the buyer. Especially if you add some exclusive zest to the product, for example, offer a unique set with it or release it in a limited edition. And it should be noted that it is NZXT that occupies the first positions among companies that make PC chassis in terms of the quantity and quality of branded products. After all, this company has grown from enthusiasts of the gaming community and is closely associated with it. Their case, which we’re reviewing today, is the base model H700, made in the style of the popular post-apocalyptic game called Fallout. Its name is Nuka-Cola (nuclear cola), it received in honor of the drink popular in this game, which, in turn, is a direct reference to the no less popular carbonated drink of our time. The Fallout series can rightly be considered a cult series, because the current adult uncles played in its first parts (released in 1997), and young people can feel the spirit of this retro-futurism even now, because we have a fresh Fallout 76 series on the way. On the other hand, the catchy appearance of the NZXT H700, it turns out that in terms of its design this chassis is quite well thought out. In general, we have something to talk about, and we hope that our readers have a desire to learn about all this.

Packing and scope of delivery
NZXT H700 Nuka-Cola is double packaged. The outer box is made of thick and discreet-looking cardboard and is labeled with only the name and size of the product. In addition, the product series is written in large letters – CRFT 2, and it is mentioned that it is only one of 2000 copies. The inner box looks much more colorful, the product itself is shown here, its airbrushing appearance is demonstrated, and all the data on the technical characteristics of this case that the buyer needs is mentioned on the sides. Carrying handles are present, protection against damage is provided by two massive polyurethane dampers, a plastic bag and adhesive films on glass parts.
A set of spare parts for the case is packaged in separate signed packages and is stored by default in a white box in the 3.5″ drive bay. The kit includes:
- assembly instructions;
- ten disposable plastic cable ties;
- metal adapter for a screwdriver for mounting motherboard racks;
- one spare motherboard stand;
- four screws for the power supply;
- four screws for fans
- 32 screws for 2.5″ drives;
- 25 screws for attaching 3.5″ drives and the motherboard;
- one block with an extension cable for convenient connection of wires of power buttons and indicators to the motherboard.
A separate box inside the case contains a collectible souvenir figurine – a man dressed in Vault 111 overalls, personifying the possession of a certain skill. On the package there is a suggestion to collect them all, but how to put it into practice, if there are only 2000 cases?
Our copy had an energy weapon wielding figure. The hand with the weapon is removable, the rest of the body is molded in one piece of plastic. The head swings on a spring.
Appearance
The exterior design of the H700 Nuka-Cola can be summed up as a boring box. It has a completely rectangular shape, but a provocative and juicy red painting, probably realized with the help of a film. On the front metal panel in the center there is a white Yader-Cola logo, in some places on the coating there are painted scuffs that imitate unpainted metal. There is nothing more remarkable ahead.
External connectors are located in the front part of the top panel, on an oval gray plastic insert. Looking in order from left to right, we first see a decorative round grill that can be mistaken for a power button, then two 3.5mm audio jacks for headphones and a microphone, then two USB 3.1 ports (purple) and two ports USB 2.0 The small round button is further responsible for turning on and off the white backlight on the board of the power supply and the six slots next to it. A round key with a recess in the center is a real system start button. Around it, along the perimeter, there is a power indicator, in the left part of the circumference of which is a built-in drive activity indicator.
The left side panel, like all other representatives of the H-series, is made of transparent tempered glass. The front and upper faces of the sidewalls of the respective panels are made in the form of a black metal lattice with round holes arranged in rows of four each. Air is taken in for ventilation through the front openings, and hot air is expelled through the upper openings.
The glass is held on by four thumbscrews. The reverse side of the screw heads is glued with rubber, so you don’t have to worry about scratches. By the way, the ventilation grilles on the edges are not located straight, but slightly recessed at an angle inward.
The glass is standard 4 mm thick and is completely transparent. A black plastic strip is pasted along its perimeter from the inside.
The most notable design element of the case is located on the right sidewall. This is an airbrush in the form of a pin-up girl poster. This metal panel has no visible handles or screws. There are ventilation grilles on the top and front faces, exactly the same as on the left side.
The right side panel opens with one button located on the back panel in the upper left corner. One press and the lock holding the door moves and it falls out.
On the reverse side, the right side panel is shaped like a bucket. Curved edges play the role of stiffeners. There are three fastening hooks at the bottom, and two plastic “tongues” of the lock at the top. Rubber gaskets are also glued next to them, eliminating the backlash and rattling of the door when closed.
The top panel is metal, smooth and solid without ventilation holes. Of the scenery, it has only “scuffs” and a couple of “stars”.
From the configuration of the back panel, you can see that there is a lot of free space above the motherboard. In the upper part of the rear there is a horizontal ventilation grill, to the left of which the button for opening the side panel is visible. Opposite the rear ports, there is a vertical ventilation grill, on which one 120- or 140-mm fan can be fixed and adjusted in height through elongated holes. The height is adjustable within 50mm for a 120mm propeller and 30mm for a 140mm propeller. Seven PCI expansion slots are covered with reusable ventilated plugs. To the right of them there is a vertical cutout, where, probably, a holder for long video cards could be fixed.
The power supply has a special mounting frame, which is held on by four thumb screws. It can be turned up or down, thus orienting the power supply in one direction or another. From below, the PSU is closed with a high-quality dust filter made of a fine nylon mesh glued onto a plastic frame.
There are four long mounting holes on the bottom of the case that hold the drive basket. The basket can be moved towards the front wall of the chassis.
The legs have a height of 25 mm, rubber blotches are glued on the bottom of them.
