The Raidmax company does not change its habit of naming case models with the letters of the Greek alphabet. Therefore, when we were offered a chassis under the name Gama for review, no one was even surprised. However, it is not clear how exactly this name is connected with the appearance or design features of the subject of this review. Probably not, and it’s just a serial number or the name of a variation in the product line. On the other hand, it does not matter, but what matters is how this chassis is arranged and what it can offer its customers. Let’s take a look in detail.

Packing and scope of delivery
Although the case itself is considered to be a budget case, the box is decorated with color printing depicting one of its variants of poisonous green coloring. The base color of the chassis is black, but the top and front panel can be black, white, orange, green or blue. Even from the packaging, you can get information that the exterior design of the chassis is inspired by sports cars. There is a minimum of technical information here, it mainly concerns compatibility with components, and you can find it on the sides of the package. There are also handles for carrying, which can not but rejoice. Protection against damage during transportation is the usual – two foam dampers, a plastic bag and adhesive films on the side glass.
The modest package includes the following items:
- case assembly instructions;
- four cable ties;
- diagnostic speaker;
- three motherboard racks (another eight are screwed into the pallet);
- 25 small screws for the motherboard and fixing 2.5″ drives;
- 8 screws for fixing 3.5″ drives;
- four screws for the power supply.
Appearance
As mentioned above, the Raidmax Gama tries its best to resemble a sports car. Therefore, the upper part of its glossy front panel, with a hexagonal logo, looks like a hood, and the lower part is made up of a massive plastic air intake grille, behind which a fine-meshed metal mesh is visible.
On the front edge of the top panel, in a recess, there are two USB 3.0 ports, two 3.5 mm audio outputs for a microphone and headphones, small rectangular buttons for rebooting and starting the system, two indicators for drive activity (red) and system power (green) .
When viewed from the side, it becomes clear how much the front plastic panel protrudes forward. Here they obviously sacrificed the dimensions of the case for the sake of design. And the entire left panel, in the best modern tradition, is a solid 4 mm thick tempered glass, which is held in place by four thumb screws placed at the corners.
The glass is quite transparent due to light tinting. It is outlined by a black line along the edges. Rubber pads are glued to the screw heads on the inside to prevent scratches on the glass when tightening.
Rubber dampers are also put on the mounting bushings, which partially compensate for the vibrations transmitted to the glass and protect the holes from chipping.
The right side door is metal and solid, has a large stamping and a handle to facilitate dismantling. It is held in place with two plastic knurled screws.
Thanks to stamping and stiffening ribs, the right door is almost inflexible.
In the design of the upper plastic panel, sports car motifs can again be traced. A fine-mesh metal mesh is inserted in eight trapezoidal ventilation recesses, behind which a larger honeycomb grille is visible. It looks entertainingly even until all this relief needs to be dusted off.
The back panel is standard. At the top right, there is a ventilation grille with a 120mm fan pre-installed behind it. Elongated mounting holes allow you to adjust the position of the propeller frame vertically within a few centimeters. The first expansion slot is closed with a reusable plug, and the remaining six are covered with disposable vented plugs. The decorative strip to the right of the slots is sliding, held by two thumb screws. The mounting holes of the power supply allow it to be placed exclusively in the fan-down orientation.
At the bottom of the case for the power supply there is a ventilation grill with large oblong holes covered with a mesh of a metal dust filter. To remove it for cleaning, the case will have to be lifted and tilted on its side. In the front part, there was an atavism from other chassis models in the form of multiple holes, which are not used here in any way. There are also four screw heads that hold the drive basket in place and allow you to remove it completely.
Plastic legs with a height of 15 mm are devoid of soft dampers.
