Case review Aerocool P7-C0 Pro

[ad_1]

The second case from Aerocool’s top Project 7 series is called the C0 Pro, and it differs from the previously reviewed C1 in a much more restrained design and smaller dimensions. However, this model also has its own “chip”, which consists in glass side panels on both sides and the presence of three RGB fans, an RGB LED strip on the front panel and a controller hub for all of the above. Otherwise, this is an ordinary Midi-Tower case, although it is made quite neatly. Now about everything in detail.

Packing and scope of delivery

The case is delivered in a cardboard box with monochrome printing. On the front side of the package there is an image and the name of the product, and a description of its main advantages. On the reverse side, only the logo of the series is shown. A more detailed description of the benefits in several languages and comprehensive technical specifications can be found on the sides of the box, where the carrying handles are located. Protection against damage is banal – a plastic bag and two foam dampers.

Appearance

As mentioned above, the design of the Aerocool P7-C0 Pro is simpler and more practical than that of the P7-C1. The front panel is a plastic rim formed by slanted edges that form a recess inward. Most of the front is occupied by a metal ventilation grill with large hexagonal cells, behind which pre-installed fans are visible. Along the perimeter of the grille there is a strip of LED illumination made of white translucent plastic. The Aerocool logo is pasted on the bottom. The corner faces are triangular and beveled towards the back, which gives the case an interesting appearance.

External ports are located on the top panel in front, on a glossy plastic insert. There is a large square system start button with a built-in power indicator, a small square reset button, a drive activity indicator, two USB 3.0 ports, between which two 3.5 mm audio jacks for headphones and a microphone are built.

The left side panel is completely glass and opaque. In front, it closes the sides of the front plastic panel. And the plastic bevels on the front corners are suddenly very handy when moving the case around.

The glass is traditionally held on by four knurled screws. The solution is simple in terms of execution, but not very convenient in practice. You have to take the glass with your hands and make sure not to drop it in the process of screwing.

Glass is put on brass racks, on top of which there are rubber gaskets. Unfortunately, they are not fixed in any way and often twist, fall off or remain in the panel openings.

The thickness of tempered glass is 4mm. The panels on the right and left are identical and interchangeable. There are no gaskets on the mounting screws, so you should not tighten them too much, in order to avoid the rapid appearance of scratches.

The right side of the case is also completely glass and rests on four metal thumbscrews. On the one hand, it would seem, who would want to look at the bundles of wires. On the other hand, behind a strong tint, almost nothing is visible anyway. You could almost as well make this panel opaque.

The top panel is metal. The ventilation grill, which occupies most of it, is covered with a fine-mesh metal dust filter, which is held on magnetic tapes.

The holes in the lattice are large, hexagonal in shape. Two 120- or 140-mm fans can be installed here with alignment along the central axis of symmetry.

Behind the body “everything is like everyone else.” One 120 or 140 mm propeller can be installed on the seat behind the grille on the right. Seven PCI slots are covered with ventilated reusable plugs, which are held on with ordinary screws. The opening to the right of the slots is closed by a decorative L-shaped metal latch that is held in place by a single thumb screw.

The power supply can be installed in a fan-down orientation only. Under it, as a protection against dust, there is a retractable filter, which is made of a fine mesh glued to a plastic frame.

At the bottom of the case at the back there is a ventilation grill for the power supply, and at the front there are holes with rubber gaskets through which one 3.5″ hard drive is screwed inside. To the right of the holes, there are two screws holding the wall of the drive cage. On the front, at the bottom of the front panel, there is a recess for easy removal.

The legs are plastic with rubber studs on the bottom. Their height is 25 mm.
