The bytes that were changed here are x86 code that reads the PCI configuration register and does something with the value.
STILL, if you don’t have tons of disks you want to hotswap at the same time, imho, why not just use jmicron controller.

Posted June 26, I have not used this tool before; investigate it for yourself before installing unknown software. They seem important, causing PCI config register bits 0xed[5: Skiprom works best for me in hackintosh.
Also tried many different driver revisions. I can’t seem to hot swap an external SATA drive. Pluv problems with configuration register 0x are more problematic.
Trying to do that in the option ROM imicron a several-minute hang during boot when loading the option ROM again, seemingly waiting for a disk and giving upeven when a PATA disk is present. Why can it be?.

If you are paranoid, you can always go into the system properties and remove the drive from the system completely before unplugging or powering down your eSata device. I also used pcicfg in DOS to check the card was detected.
